Dr Lawrie attends medicolegal conference in Hobart October 2021 as guest speaker. Dr Lawrie’s topic was “Who Needs an Arthroscopy and Who Needs a Knee Replacement?”
The talk focussed on the debate between physiotherapy and arthroscopic meniscectomy and the indications for each. Importantly the talk emphasised the importance of considering arthroscopic meniscal repair as opposed to removing meniscal tears when considering surgery. The talk also focussed on the new Guidelines published by the AAOS concerning management of knee osteoarthritis.
