Dr Lawrie has extensive experience and training in fracture management.

He is a fellow of AO/ASIF group (the International Society for the Development of trauma/fracture management)

Dr Lawrie has developed a fracture fixation system for management of elbow fractures that will soon be available for treating these difficult fractures. The care of trauma/fracture patients is often an emergency procedure which requires readily available and extensive equipment.

Commonly the public hospital system is best equipped to deal with the urgent management of these trauma patients. Dr Lawrie is a visiting orthopaedic surgeon at Nambour General Hospital and he is part of the on-call roster for injuries such as this.

Depending on the availability of equipment, the access to operating theatres and in-patient bed availability; some fractures/injuries (typically less urgent injuries) can be dealt with in the private system.
