Dr Steve Lawrie – Orthopaedic Surgeon – Sunshine Coast
Here at the Sunshine Coast Orthopaedic Clinic we specialize in the management of complex orthopaedic conditions particularly of the hip and knee. Sports injury management is a major focus with equal focus on rapid assessment, state of the art surgery and expert rehabilitation until you have returned to the sporting field.
Dr Lawrie has particular expertise in complex ACL and PCL reconstructions, advanced knee arthroscopy with meniscal repair and joint preserving techniques. Management of patella dislocation, meniscal tears and cruciate ligament injuries are major goals. The Acute Knee Clinic operates Mondays and Tuesdays for rapid assessment of these injuries.
Dr Lawrie has extensive training and experience in complex reconstructive procedures of the hip and knee, having completed two Fellowships in reconstructive surgery of the hip and knee.
With over 15 years experience with computer navigated knee replacement and a special interest with revision knee replacement surgery, minimal incision, rapid recovery for both total and partial knee replacement surgery, femoral and tibial osteotomy, cartilage preservation, all aspects of knee surgery are covered.
Management of complex hip pathology is also a special interest of Dr Lawrie’s. There are a number of different options when considering hip replacement surgery. Our philosophy is to use the best technique for your situation. This may be with a cemented or uncemented hip replacement, alternative bearings, minimally invasive or small incision techniques depending on the clinical situation.
